Begonia Blue Leather Ballerinas – Pointed Toe Flats
Details
The Begonia is a pointed ballet flat with one defining detail: layered leather worked across the vamp in a long art deco curve, each strip cut and set by hand. In this colourway the whole thing is tonal, a dusty periwinkle upper with strips of matt navy and indigo metallic leather running side by side, curling into a small teardrop ring near the toe and continuing around the topline as a fine trim. A pale topstitch outlines every layer, which is what keeps the pattern legible instead of blurring into one blue.
The upper blue is soft and greyed, the kind that behaves like a neutral: it sits with cream, sand, camel, chocolate and white as easily as black does, and it is far more interesting. Underneath, the construction is deliberately plain: a fine pointed toe, a natural leather sole with the tan edge left visible, and a barely-there stacked base. Nothing else competes.
How to wear it
- With a sand or ecru silk skirt cropped above the ankle, so the whole shoe stays visible.
- With cream tailored trousers and a stiff poplin shirt, for the daytime version.
- With a white summer dress, when the blue is the only colour in the outfit.
Size & fit: please read before ordering
This style runs small. If your feet are true to size, we recommend ordering one size up.
Add to that a fine pointed toe, which gives length rather than width, and a flat with no lacing or strap to adjust. If you are between sizes, take the larger of the two without hesitating. Not sure? Write to info@mangara.be before you order and we will help you choose.
Materials and care
- Upper: genuine leather, Leather Working Group certified tannery
- Applique: layered leather strips in matt navy and indigo metallic, set and stitched by hand
- Lining and insole: leather, cushioned
- Sole: natural leather with visible tan edge
- Toe: fine pointed, flat
Wipe with a barely damp cloth and let the leather dry naturally, away from any heat source. Take particular care around the applique, where the layers meet, and never rub the metallic strips with an abrasive cloth.
